Question: Is diversity biblical? Answer: Yes and no.

Yes, because Christians come from all cultural backgrounds.

No, our culture of origin or practice is immaterial to Christianity because all Christians are necessarily born again. And that means that Christians are born into a new culture – Christian culture. Though Christians are ethnically diverse, diversity is not taught in Scripture. Rather, Scripture teaches unity – unity in Christian culture, in the church.

Unity and diversity are polar opposites. So, why do we talk about diversity so much?
